HOW DO I LOG IN/ACCESS MY DOWNLOADS?

To log in, click on “Account” in the upper right corner of the website, next to the cart icon. Or here.

Then click on the “Downloads” tab, on the left.

I'M LOGGED IN, BUT THERE ARE NO DOWNLOADS IN MY ACCOUNT.

If you created an account before or during the checkout process, your downloads should be immediately available.

If you created an account after checkout, I need to manually connect it to your order. Just send a message to info@rebeccashamblin.com and I will take care of it!

WHY DOES IT SAY "ADD TO CART" INSTEAD OF DOWNLOADING MY FILE?

When downloading your files, make sure to click on the blue buttons in the “Downloads” column on the right side of the screen.

Do not click on the hyperlinks in the “Product” column, because they only bring you back to the product description page.

I ORDERED A BOOK, BUT NEVER GOT A CONFIRMATION EMAIL.

Make sure to check your Spam/Junk Mail folder for your confirmation email.

WILL I GET A SHIPPING NOTIFICATION?

Unfortunately, my printing company does not automatically populate shipping updates in the customer portal, so you will not get a notification when your book ships. I’m sorry, I wish I could change that for you!

WHEN WILL I GET MY PRINTED BOOK?

Much as I suggest in my book, I use “print on demand” to produce these books, meaning they are printed one at a time as they are ordered.

In general, paperbacks take 3-5 (business) days to be produced. The special editions take longer, about 6-7 days in production. Please note that winter holidays can extend production times to be 7-10 days, starting around November 15th.*

Orders are shipped via media mail  to keep shipping & handling prices as low as possible, so it can take 12-14 days after shipping to receive your book in the U.S. (although in my experience, it has been closer to 1 week).

If you need your book by a particular date, please reach out directly before placing your order, and I can investigate pricing for rush orders and shipping.

* Note – My printer has facilities around the world, but the Australian location seems to be taking longer than the others. Please add a few additional days if you live near Australia.

WHY ISN'T APPLE PAY WORKING?

Most customers have been able to use Apple Pay successfully, but a few have had trouble due to shipping address problems. For maximum security, the shipping address stored on your phone for the Apple Store must not be blank, and it must match the address stored with the credit card you are trying to use with Apple Pay. Here are some tips on editing your information.

HOW DO I UNZIP A FILE?

Unzipping a file is different for different devices. Here are some tips.

Remember, you cannot open/view the unzipped FBC settings file; it can only be loaded within FBC directly.

WHY CAN'T I OPEN THE FBC SETTINGS FILE?

The FBC Settings file is not a text document that you can open and view, like the Word template is. It is code, and can only be loaded in to Family Book Creator directly.

Once downloaded, unzip the file. Then in FBC, go to the Preferences workspace. First, click the “Save Settings” button in the lower left corner, to be able to return to your existing settings in the future.

Then, click the “Load Settings” button in the bottom left corner and navigate to the downloaded file. FBC will immediately adjust all settings to match those that I use in my books. See page 111 of the book for screenshots and details.

IF I ORDER ON AMAZON, DO I GET THE PDF?

Nope. You only receive the complimentary PDF version of the book if you order directly on this website. 

Same for the freebies – during the book launch, you will receive my Word template for biographies and my FBC settings file completely free with your purchase (but not if you buy on Amazon).

WHY CAN'T I GET THE PDF/EBOOK ON AMAZON?

Amazon already takes well more than half the profits of each print book, and that number leaps to about 70% if I were to offer the PDF in ebook version on their site. I simply don’t believe that business model is a fair one, so I choose not to participate.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Returns are not accepted, but if your product arrives damaged I will replace it.
